UDAIPUR TOURS
Visitor's note about
Udaipur
I have just one regret after visiting Udaipur, why did I come here alone!
It is such a romantic place that I missed my girlfriend everywhere I went.
The views were romantic, the air was clean and the atmosphere absolutely
awesome! Here in Udaipur I thoroughly enjoyed the emptiness, the vast
expanse of the hilly desert and the picturesque palaces. I will definitely
come here again, this time not alone but with someone special!

A word about Udaipur
Famous for its blue water lakes, Udaipur is like an oasis in the harsh
desert terrain. The city acquires its scenic beauty from the Aravalli. There
are three prominent lakes including Lake Pichola, Udai Sagar and Fateh Sagar
that make it a hit tourist spot. Udaipur is also famous for its huge City
Palace, built and added to over the centuries by several maharajas

Palace of Udaipur

I
reached at this magnificent palace passing through the colorful streets of
Udaipur in a cab. The palace was located on the shores of the picturesque
Lake Pichola, which was adding to its beauty. I approached the palace
through 'Elephant Gate'. The palace had a maze of rooms, and beautiful
mosaics, and miniature paintings, which Udaipur is also famous for.
Inside the palace there was a series of series of courtyards, overlapping
pavilions, terraces, corridors and hanging gardens. And with a well-stocked
museum, the entire monument was just impressive!
Udaipur
Lake Palace
The taxi driver took me through scores of windy, hilly streets till I
reached the fantastic Lake Palace. It's a beautiful white structure
seemingly floating in the middle of the lake. Now converted into a luxury
hotel, it was the former summer residence of the royal family. All the
luxuries of the palace have been utilized to make it one of the best hotels
in the world.
Sahelion-ki-bari, Udaipur
My last destination in Udaipur, Sahelion-ki-bari or the 'Garden of Maids'
was a delight to explore. During the days of yore, it was a summer garden
only for the royal women, with fountains that work till this day using only
gravity feed. Being an engineer, I was impressed by this fact. The
waterworks took 25 years to complete for this garden alone.
