Visitor's note about
Pushkar
I was looking for tranquility and peace in a serene place and Pushkar
offered me just the same. The place was full of exciting surprises but it
was the lake and the surrounding temples that attracted me the most. Though
I had a great time here but next time I would prefer to come here in
November, during the Cattle Fair when the entire town comes alive.

The serene and mellow town of Pushkar is reputed for two reasons. First it

the biggest cattle fair in the world takes place every year in the month of
November. Though a small town, Pushkar attracts countless tourists from

PLACES OF INTEREST IN PUSHKAR
The Pushkar Lake
As per Hindu mythology, the lotus slipped out from Lord Brahma's hand,
struck the earth, water issued forth and the lake was created. The clear
still water of the lake narrated the divinity associated with it. Many ghats
extend down to the water to allow pilgrims to ritually bathe. And the sound
of mantras coming from countless temples located around the lake was further
adding to its divinity.
Brahma
Temple of Pushkar
The priest accompanying me told about Brahma Temple, the only one in the
world dedicated to him. I walked towards the temple, which has a high
platform on which the statue of the Lord Brahma was placed. Inside the
temple there was a big verandah behind the sanctum sanctorum with images of
several other deities.
